An alternative "mark delivered" button "scan delivered" should scan the package tracking barcode, save it, and mark the package as delivered. An extra button should be added that displays the scanned barcode on the screen, for use with official scanning equipment.

This will actually end up as an option in the toolbox for when a scanner is broken but the carrier doesn't want to wait for it to reboot.
